DEATH OF CAPT. TOWNSLEY
The death took place at 43 Dunhill Road, Goole, yesterday, of Capt. William Townsley. The deceased gentleman was a well know figure in Goole, and was highly respected in shipping circles.
He was born at Knottingley, and entered the service of the Goole Steam Shipping Co. several years ago, and was for a long time chief officer of the s.s. Berlin. He the obtained his master's certificate, and had for the past two years been captain of the s.s. Ouse. He became ill a month ago, died at the age of 45. He leaves a widow and two children.
